Winter Carnival

There was the Winter Carnival in Bear River last weekend.

It was fun!!! It was the first time for our family to visit this annual event. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather was really nice despite of the storm warning.

I learned it’s been a long time since they started, just it can be weather depending. 2 years ago they had to cancel due to the rain but this year was perfect.

Lots of fun activities – a crazy carpet castle, ice sculpture contest, pond hockey, cross country skiing, art show, fireworks, etc. And good foods. A nice ham and potato dinner at the fire hall, free cookies and hot chocolate by the fire pit.

Great work of all volunteers.

Here is a peek of the event.

You can tell I did enjoy the sliding!

At night they lit candles around the castle. Many of those ice ornaments were actually the candle holders, that looked very pretty.

We didn’t stay for fireworks but I heard the dragon shot the fire from his mouth to the river in the evening. It must be quite a show!

I think we’ll go back next year, maybe participate ice sculpture making with our friends.

Winter is short (at least for me and my son who loves snow). Let’s have fun!
